Weeks 2 & 3

At some point towards the end of week 2 and the beginning of week 3, you ovulate.  This is when you are actually fertile.  Nate decided to surprise me and come home for the weekend right around this time.  We had completely forgotten about my pill dilema… our bad.  Also, I had the misconception that you are only fertile right before your period.  I had this little cartoon image in my mind of an egg waiting to be fertilized, and when she is stood up, she breaks.  Thus, your period.  I was wrong.

So after our weekend visit, I had technically conceived.  My body just didn’t know it yet.  You see, your body doesn’t know it’s carrying a fertilized egg until the egg actually implants into your uterus.  This would happen within the coming week.  That’s when you start secreting the hormones that would actually show up on a pregnancy test.  This leads us to week 4.
